Here's the full stack, laid out end to end:
1. Frontend Foundations — the UI layer: framework, component structure, state management, routing. What the user actually sees and clicks.
2. APIs & Backend Logic — the business logic layer: endpoints, request handling, validation, the rules that turn requests into actions.
3. Database & Storage — where data lives: schema design, relational or document stores, file/blob storage for uploads and media.
4. Auth & Permissions — who can do what: login flows, sessions/tokens, role-based access control.
5. Hosting & Deployment — where the app actually runs and how new code gets pushed live (servers, containers, deployment targets).
6. Cloud & Compute — the underlying infrastructure: VMs, serverless functions, managed services from your cloud provider.
7. CI/CD & Version Control — the pipeline: git workflow, automated testing, build and release automation.
8. Security & Row-Level Security — locking down data access at the database level, plus broader app security practices (input sanitization, secrets management, etc.).
9. Rate Limiting — throttling requests to prevent abuse and protect backend resources from being overwhelmed.
10. Caching & CDN — speeding things up: edge caching for static assets, in-memory caches (Redis, etc.) for hot data.
11. Load Balancing & Scaling — distributing traffic across instances so the app holds up under growing or spiky load.
12. Error Tracking & Logs — observability: catching exceptions, structured logging, alerting when things break.
13. Availability & Recovery — uptime strategy, backups, failover, disaster recovery planning.
That's a genuinely complete production stack
